About The Mobile Museum

DESIGNED FOR AGES 0-12 (but hey, everyone likes to play)

Columbia Play Project provides exploratory play via a Mobile Children's Museum. Activities offer materials and space for children to develop social, emotional, physical and intellectual skills through access to loose parts and time to play at the child's own pace. We encourage adult involvement and exploration too. The Mobile Children's Museum (MCM) is available for small and large groups. We bring the mobile children's museum with materials and when appropriate, prompts for activities or guided sessions. You provide space for the activities. The MCM can operate in a park, parking lot, or indoor locations with space to spread out.

How Do You Want to Play?

POP UP CHILDREN’S MUSEUM

The Mobile Children’s Museum allows us to bring the fun to you. We encourage free play with a variety of STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art and Math) based toys and activities. Geared towards ages 0+, these events are suitable for a large crowd - up to 500 or more - and perform best in a large open field or park. The Pop Up Party can be done indoors but some activities may not be suitable for indoor spaces. Activities include: Giant Bubbles and Wands, Connect Four Games, Magnetic Manipulatives, Chalk Art, Coloring Table, Science Touch and Feel Discovery Table, Ping Pong Target shooting, Strawbee, Rocket Launcher, Pop-Up Ball Launchers, Vertical Wind Tunnel, Large Motor Skill Toys such as sack races and a giant parachute. Additional exhibits are in the works.

We’re always open to talking about your specific event. Give us a call and we’ll come up with a fun way to engage your kids.

MAKERSPACE/ARTSPACE

Designed for ages 4+ and up to 30 children in a classroom or outdoor space, two Grantnell maker space carts provide a wide variety of loose parts designed to capture a child’s imagination and let them create without specific directions. Age appropriate design prompts will help children get started.

BRICQ MOTION

A guided Lego® creation activity suitable for ages 6+, and up to 30 children in a classroom environment or outdoors in good weather. The children work in pairs to build their creations according to a design and then test that design against several prompts. This guided workshop requires 2 hours.

LEGO® CREATION STATION

Thousands of bricks, mini-figs and pieces for independent creative play. The large set of Legos is suitable for ages 4+. We can provide prompts for this as well - similar to the makerspace prompts. CPP also has hundreds of Duplos pieces which are suitable for 1+.

BIG BLUE BLOCKS®

Bricks, cylinders, channels, and chutes let kids build whatever strikes their fancy. These modular, rectilinear parts are lightweight and easy to stack, line-up, and move around leading to endless creative, imaginative play. Appropriate for any age, these blocks need a big space, indoor or outdoor, and can include up to 30 kids at a time.
